Appeal of Denial of Request from Dream Design International Inc. to Remove a Portion of the Median in Eglin Street Located Adjacent to LaGrand Station near Elk Vale Road.

Summary: |

|
Dream Design International on behalf of the owner of LaGrand Station submitted a right of way permit to remove public improvements consisting of a raised median to provide direct access into the property. The permit was rejected. Adequate access to the property exists. The SDDOT and property owner relocated Eglin Street to its current location as part of the reconstruction of Elk Vale Road. The median was installed based on plans prepared by Dream Design International that were reviewed and approved by the SDDOT. The SDDOT does not support the removal of the median as future queue lengths will negatively impact “safety and operation of the State highway.” (See attached correspondence by the SDDOT) |
